Having cut my programming teeth on the 8-bit home computers of the early 1980s I switched focus to the blossoming world wide web in the mid 1990s, since when have I have developed websites for various clients in many different sectors - examples of which are listed below.

ART2ART UK

Client: Art2ArtUK   Field: Art   Date: 2010   

 

Art2ArtUKBuilt for a contemporary online art gallery, this design features several elements from the new CSS3 specification and large background images in order to showcase the artist's work. The content is primarily database driven and runs on a php/MySQL platform.

LSEAnother standards-compliant CSS re-build for a national company delivering security systems to educational facilities and other sectors. A lengthy project which was launched late 2009.

KUMBA standards-compliant CSS build for an established freight company set to expand into the competitive parcel sector. The site launched final quarter 2009.

KUMB (KNEES UP MOTHER BROWN)

KUMBThe award-winning KUMB.com is a leading independent sports website initially launched in the summer of 1997. Despite being earmarked as a temporary project it's still going strong today and delivers several million pages every month. The current version (the sixth since '97) is a 2008 build, the first witten in pure CSS. See www.kumb.com for more.

 

STEELFIT UK

Client: Steel Fit UK    Field: Construction   Date: 2007   

 

Steel Fit UKThe client - a national steel fitting agency - were looking to revamp their existing brochure website which had been unchanged for some years. The site, which is built in standard CSS/HTML was due to relaunch final quarter 2007 under a new domain.

 

 

 

REEDSMITH: INTRANET

Client: Reed Smith    Field: Law   Date: 2007   

 

Reed SmithFollowing on from the production of intranets for Richards Butler I worked as chief designer on the new merged company's intranet at the end of 2006. The site was written with a combination of CSS/ASP/HTML with a SQL Server back-end.

 

 

 

RICHARDS BUTLER: INTRANET

Client: Richards Butler    Field: Law   Date: 2000-06   

 

Reed SmithI produced three different versions of the firm's intranet (in 2001, 2004 and 2006). The company - which merged with Reed Smith in 2007 - has offices worldwide and is one of the City's top 20 law firms post-merger. The site was written with a combination of CSS/ASP/HTML with a SQL Server back-end.

 

 

SCEPTRE FINANCE

Sceptre FinanceThis small to mid-sized project for an Essex-based finance company was produced in little over a week following initial consultations with the client. The site was written in flat CSS/HTML.

 

 

 

 

RICHARDS BUTLER

Client: Reed Smith    Field: Law   Date: 2004   

 

Richards ButlerThe client was a City-based law firm (now merged with Reed Smith LLP) looking for a dynamic online solution to replace thier outdated flat HTML site. The new solution was written in a combination of PHP/Flash and driven by a (bespoke) mySQL back-end.

 

 

 

ESSEX INTERPRETING

Essex InterpretingThe client, a small local company providing interpreting services around the globe were looking for an initial presence on the web. A clean, corporate style was used to deliver the message. The site is built in CSS/HTML. See www.essexinterpreting.com for more.

 

 

 

ACCESS FULFILMENT/HUGHES LOGISTICS/ FROM A TO B

Client: Hughes Logostics    Field: Freight Forwarding    Date: 2003   

 

Access FulfilmentI developed a number of solutions for this international freight-forwarding group over a number of years, including websites for the three satellite companies named above. The same template was incorporated across all three sites resulting in a reduced cost to the client.

An online brochure website for an Essex-based wedding planning service.

 

FRIENDS OF RED BULL

Client: Red Bull   Field: Catering   Date: 1999

Friends Of Red Bull

One of my first major contracts was a marketing spin-off from Red Bull's main site geared towards the UK catering industry. FoRB provided a secure client log-in area where members were encouranged to swap recipes, news etc.
